Delete your account

You can delete your Brilliancy account yourself, at any time, without asking us.

In the app

Open Profile, scroll to Settings, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm, and the deletion happens immediately.

On the web

Right here. Nothing else to find, and no request to send us.

Sign in and come back to this page, and the button below will delete your account immediately.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email team@herenowlabs.xyz from the address you signed in with, or tell us your display name. We will delete the account and confirm by reply, normally within two business days.

What is deleted

Your account and display name, your avatar if you set one, your Brilliancy Elo and streak, your likes and follows, any comments you posted, your notification token, your email address if you gave us one, and the link to the Google or Apple account you signed in with. All of it, permanently, with no recovery.

If you used My games, that goes too: the Chess.com username you enrolled, every puzzle we mined from your games, and the copies of those games we stored in order to mine them.

If you had signed up for our emails, your address is removed from that list as well, so they stop. That removal runs on a schedule rather than instantly, so one message already in flight may still arrive; every one of them carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

What is kept, and why

The positions you attempted stay in the anonymous community statistics, with your user id removed so nothing connects them to you. Those records are what produce the “X% of players found this” figure shown to everyone else on a position. Deleting them would silently change what other people are told about that position, so we unlink them instead of erasing them. Once unlinked they are indistinguishable from the ordinary signed-out play that makes up most of the site.

Nothing kept this way identifies you, and none of it can be traced back to your account once the account is gone.
